Producer, Visionary, Humanitarian
Lavarious A. Slaughter is taking front and center on Life's Stage. A born leader, Lavarious was determined to never let go of his dreams, to maximize every moment, and to make the most of every opportunity. In keeping with this vision, Lavarious launched a company called Lavarious & Co. Lavarious embarked on this endeavor by setting his sights on delivering the best theatrical and film productions that he could offer. His play "You Better Be Glad I'm Saved" arose from the tragic murder of Lavarious' dear cousin. This inspirational work, which transcends race and religion, premiered in Orlando, Florida in the summer of 2007. To stage the play, Lavarious sold his car, dug deep into his savings, and single-handedly sold 1,050 tickets.
Audiences eagerly await Lavarious' to launch the play, “Love Unbreakable” which will be premiering across the Eastern part of the country in spring of 2015. the performance will be followed by a special appearance by the playwright himself, who will engage the audience in an intimate discussion of his artistic work and humanitarian endeavors. While Lavarious supporters wait for the play to launch, Lavarious is working on a T.V show called The Lavarious Slaughter Show which will be airing on 24 FLIX T.V every Monday-Friday night at 7:00pm.
For Lavarious, there is more to his work than just the arts. A portion of the proceeds from his productions go to the Lavarious Slaughter Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation aimed at bettering the lives of intercity kids around the world. Lavarious' ultimate goal is to reach out and change people's lives. Though he has had his share of personal hardships, he is blessed with the vision, inspiration, and hope of building a promising future.
